Time for Recipes!

Hi all,

Just a friendly reminder to please submit your recipe to the blog by this Friday evening. This allows Marci the time she needs to compile the master list of recipes for October. Thanks again to Marci for her willingness to put this together for all of us each month!

We also wanted to mention that we do have one open spot in the meal swap, so if you know of anyone who would be a good fit, please reach out to them and let us know.

Looking forward to seeing many of you next Monday, October 10th, at 8 p.m. at my house. Thanks!

October Gift a Meal

At our October swap, if you are interested in gifting a meal it will go to my friend Rachel’s family.    Rachel has a son, Givenson, who is 6 years old.  He is undergoing a MAJOR surgery October 4th in New York City.  It is BIG surgery where only one doctor in the world is known to be able to do the surgery.  Rachel and Givenson will return to MN around October 19th but then have two additional surgeries in New York before the end of the year to complete the process.

The surgery Givenson is having would be a big deal for anyone but add on to that that he suffers a lot of anxiety from medical trauma throughout his life, separation anxiety from unstable start to life (he is adopted) and not understanding that his parents will be waiting for him as he is wheeled away to surgeries, and a lot of additional confusion from being deaf and not being able to process all that is going on around him.

Givenson will need lots of his parents love and care to get through these next three months.  We can help by giving meals so his parents can focus on him not on what is for dinner.

There will be 11 people swapping this month.  So plan to prep 11 meals and bring 10, or prep 12 and bring 11 if you will be donating a meal.

See you on the 10th!
